Hi everyone,
It was a strange day today... I had my first round match and I won the first set and it was 1-all in the second set when we had to stop because of rain. It was a pretty bad stop for me actually, because when we came back she went up 4-1, when we stopped for good. In a way I was glad to get a second rain delay then... it's always tough to stop a match one day and come back the next day to finish it, but that's how it is and I'm looking forward to getting back at it tomorrow.
It was hard to do anything during the rain delays because you never know when you're going to go back on. It would start and stop for 30 to 45 minutes, then the last rain delay was three or four hours. Even a few of the games we played were basically in the rain, so it was hard to focus then too. The momentum can shift when things like that happen so it's not easy to refocus.
Everything will stay the same in terms of my preparation, though. I'm going to get up early and warm up well and take it like it's a new match. The only thing that's different is I'll do some extra warming up since we're in the middle of the match - I need to get on court really warm and ready to play...
I'm actually going to have an early night tonight, it's 9pm and I'm actually in bed already :) I'm playing at 11 tomorrow morning... so it'll be an early day...
I'll talk to you all again tomorrow and I look forward to your questions!
Goodnight,
Jelena
